Safety Protection System

As a common heavy-duty equipment in the metal processing field, the bending machine involves an extremely high risk of mechanical injury (such as limb crushing, shearing, etc.) due to the high-speed closing movement between the slider and the lower die during its operation. Therefore, the safety protection system is a core component that ensures the life safety of operators and complies with industrial safety standards (e.g., GB 17120-2021 Safety of Metal-Cutting Machine Tools - General Requirements, EN 12622 Safety Requirements for Hydraulic Sheet Metal Bending Machines).

It is a comprehensive system composed of four major modules: active protection, passive protection, safety control, and emergency support. All modules work synergistically to cover the full-process risk management and control of "before startup - during processing - in emergency situations".

Safety light curtain-Active Protection

Composed of a transmitter and a receiver, it forms multiple infrared/laser "protective light curtains" under the slider; when a human body or foreign object blocks any light beam, the system immediately cuts off the power of the bending machine, causing the slider to stop or return.

DSP Laser-Active Protection

It prevents hazards from the machine tool slider's rapid movement. A block-shaped protection zone is formed around the bending tool tip, covering its front, middle and rear. This zone is fixed under the tool tip and moves with the die. When the die descends at high speed, any object below must enter the DSP-generated zone before touching the tool tip. If an obstacle (e.g., a worker’s finger) enters the zone, the DSP instantly sends a signal to stop the slider’s downward movement.

Rear Protection-Passive Protection

Passive protection uses "physical barriers" to prevent the human body from entering hazardous areas, making it suitable for scenarios with fixed processing procedures and low operation frequency.
  • It is made of steel plates and grid plates (with an aperture of ≤12mm to prevent fingers from reaching in), which fully encloses the hazardous area of the slider and the lower die, leaving only a material inlet for sheet metal.

Door open and power off-Passive Protection

When the electrical box/protective door of the bending machine is opened, the power is automatically cut off to prevent operators from touching live components and causing electric shock.

Foot Pedal with Emergency Stop Button Switch

The foot-operated emergency stop switch includes two sets of contacts: the normally closed contact is connected to the equipment's safety circuit, and the normally open contact is connected to the DC intermediate relay of the high-voltage cabinet. When the switch is stepped on, the normally closed contact disconnects the safety circuit, and the normally open contact energizes the trip coil through the relay's actuation, resulting in the equipment being powered off and stopped.
